Application

Thulium Fluoride has specialized uses in ceramics, glass, phosphors, lasers, also is the important dopant for fibre amplifiers and as raw materials for making Thulium Metal and alloys.

Optical materials: TmF₃ is used in the production of optical components, especially solid-state lasers and other photonic devices, due to its good optical properties.
Lasers: Thulium ions are used in laser applications, especially medical and industrial lasers, because they can emit light at wavelengths useful for a variety of applications, including surgery and materials processing.
Nuclear Applications: Similar to other rare earth fluorides, TmF₃ can be used in certain nuclear applications, including neutron detection.
